This project was a labour of love, generously assisted by le Sécretariat aux relations avec les Québécois d’expression anglaise and ELAN. I had the privilege of making an extensive tour of Quebec during a critical period in our history. As I was visiting dozens of communities and hearing from hundreds of Quebecers, the book wrote itself. This story belongs to the people who lived it, and to future generations who will want to understand it.
